The 38th Annual Meeting of the Thornhill Foundation was held at Bayona on Dauphine Street in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, May 12th, in conjunction with the 44th Annual Hardie Family Reunion which took place from Friday, May 11ththrough Sunday, May 13th, 2018.
New Orleans was where two of John Hardie’s sons, John Timmons Hardie (#1) and William Tipton Hardie (#6) lived and where many of their descendants still reside.
In recognition of our reunion taking place on Mother’s Day weekend, we focused on our female Hardies! We made arrangements with The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) for a private Friday afternoon tour of the home of their founder, Leila Hardie Moore Williams. Friday evening we were treated to welcome cocktails hosted by a member of the Board of the Thornhill Foundation. Saturday, THNOC provided a private viewing of some of the Hardie family memorabilia in their collection. Saturday evening Hardies gathered at Bayona for the Annual Meeting and Reunion Dinner. Sunday was Mother’s Day so all were invited to attend service at the St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church to celebrate the day.
